Overview

This e-learning module is aligned to the post-approval Learning and Development Framework for Foster Carers.

Aims and Objectives*:

To gain an overview of the main legislation connected to the fostering task
To consider parental responsibility and the importance of working with parents and the Local Authority including Delegated Authority
To explore the main expectations placed on foster carers and the service under the regulatory framework

Outcome

The foster carer will be able to: understand their role within the context of legislation. Describe the responsibilities placed upon them and the service in providing care for children looked after.
