‘The AFKA Cymru legal group is a well established group, open to all public child care lawyers in Wales. It meets on a quarterly basis (at present a little more frequently in order to share Covid related information), usually at the St David’s office. However, as with so many groups, we are finding that a remote meeting has the great benefit of colleagues from across the whole country being able to meet and we intend to keep an element of remote meeting once the pandemic is over.
Our topics of discussion range across the public child care law field, including care and placement proceedings and issues arising from the family court, looked after children, fostering, adoption and special guardianship.
Both regular and occasional members of the group find catching up with practice across local authorities informative and useful.’
The group is open to any public child care lawyer practising in Wales,; if you are not on the group and would like to join, please contact us.
The group has traditionally met in the South Wales area. However, as with so many groups, we are finding that a remote meeting has the great benefit of colleagues from across the whole country being able to meet and we intend to keep an element of remote meeting once the pandemic is over.
