This course is specifically designed for foster and kinship carers and focuses on their role with placement stability. Themes and messages from the AFKA Cymru Good Practice Guide are explored and discussed including, the impact of developmental trauma on children, the challenges faced when meeting the needs of children with complex needs and the additional impact of the pandemic on vulnerable children and young people. Foster carers will look at tools to enable the re-parenting of children in a sensitive and empathic way working towards what works to build, recover and maintain placement stability.
