Independent Reviewing Officer Conference 2024: A day to celebrate and empower the role of the IRO in Wales

We welcome all Independent Reviewing Officers in Wales, and those interested in the role, to join us at our AFKA Cymru conference in Cardiff on September 11th 2024.

We are looking forward to a day of celebration and empowerment of the role of the IRO in Wales.

Join us at Novotel Hotel Cardiff where registration and morning refreshments will begin at 10.30am, followed by a welcome from our Chair, Beverley James at 11am.

Keynote speakers include:

Nigel Kelleher (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, Edge Hill University) on Finding the unique value of the IRO in the development of children’s services.

Sabina Hussain (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children Coordinator at Wales Local Government Association) on The Role of the IRO with UASC.
