Supporting Reunification Plans

Trainer - Tracy Bowen

Do you see reunification as a plan for permanence or an exit from care? This workshop will consider how these different conceptualisations of a return home can affect the planning, support and outcomes for children. Through consideration of the legal framework, research findings and learning from serious case reviews, this workshop will give an understanding of best practice for children returning home. As a group we will look at how to keep the child at the centre of the planning, how to manage risk and ensure safety.

Audience

Social workers, managers, IRO’s, family support workers, personal advisors – anyone working with children on rehabilitation plans

Feedback

“I found going through a model that can be used for Reunification and considering what things need to be included in assessments and planning really helpful today.”

“The case study was helpful in making us think critically and practically about the process of reunification”.
