This workshop will cover all aspects relating to the assessment of foster carers including legislative framework, two stage process, planning for a 4-6 month timescale, assessment tools and techniques. Attendees will be supported to develop skills in assessment, evidence-based practice, critical analysis and how to present information to foster panel with a focus on promoting best practice in the recruitment and assessment of prospective foster families. Whether you are new to fostering or experienced this will be an opportunity to reflect on your practice, consider the complexities of the breadth of tasks involved in every assessment and a space to explore ideas.
