Siblings Together or Apart – FULLY BOOKED

Trainer – Adrian Perkins

This two-day workshop will support social workers with their assessment and decision making when making plans for siblings. The course aims to give attendees an overview of legislation, research and context for working with siblings. Attendees will consider the significance of sibling relationships and identify some key areas in assessing sibling relationships. The course considers the issues relating to contact for siblings separated through fostering or adoption as well as looking at the skills, capacities and support needs of carers /parents of siblings in alternative family settings.

Audience – Children’s Social Workers

“I think all social workers should do this course, even those in adult social care who may be working with those who went through trauma in early childhood and the impact of separation from their family/siblings.  The tools are something I will use and continue to use.  Thank you for this!”
