The outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) resulted in most learners, including those from vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, being unable to access their place of learning during the period of school and setting closure. This impacted on their ability to access education and other services that they would ordinarily have had access to. Welsh Government have produced a Guidance Supporting Vulnerable Disadvantaged Learners
We are very grateful to Gwynedd Council for translating our checks and references resources, for use with all family assessment forms, into the Welsh language, and for allowing us to distribute these to adoption and fostering agencies in Wales and with offices in Wales.
The resources can be used with our Form F (Fostering Wales) as well as with the Prospective Adopter’s Report (Wales), and they are supplied free of charge to all agencies with a licence for either form.
The templates were emailed to agencies with the appropriate licence earlier in August – if you are not sure who in your agency received the templates, please email pubs.sales@corambaaf.org.uk.

The Young Person’s Mental Health Toolkit directs young people, aged 11 to 25, to a variety of online resources which can help them through the lockdown and beyond. In each of the six sections there are websites, apps, helplines, and more which support mental health and wellbeing. This has been based on the resources that Welsh local authorities and Welsh health boards already recommend for use.
The Mental Health Toolkit will be under constant review and therefore may be subject to change in line with the developing needs of children and young people during the coronavirus pandemic. The link to the toolkit in English.

National Adoption Service has LJW Resources of online resources aimed at everyone involved with adoption in Wales.
The resource is aimed at adopters, foster carers, social workers, support staff, birth parents, adopted children and young people, as well as professionals involved in the adoption process. There is something for each group.
