Until very recently AFKA Cymru’s training offer was entirely face to face delivery for practitioners, foster carers and adopters across Wales.
In response to new demands we are now focusing on developing our website to enable it to have the functionality required for all types of on-line learning.
We have designed an on-line pre-approval preparation training course for foster carers which is available below.
We have developed a broad range of flexible post-approval e-learning modules for foster carers. These are aligned to the new Learning & Development framework core modules. Each module includes around an hour of teaching with no less than 2 hours supplementary resources to embed the learning. The modules have been designed to include an option for foster carers to complete the Personal Learning Record & Development Plan in addition to evidencing engagement in the course for service records.
The e-learning which we produce will be specific to the requirements for Wales, both regulatory and in-line with the National fostering framework and the National Adoption Service. We are striving to ensure excellent quality is upheld whilst new flexible approaches are embedded.
